Our Services
We provide hands-on silviculture services across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, using manual clearing saws to ensure precision, care, and quality results.

All services are completed by trained, experienced crews and backed by full insurance coverage for your peace of mind.

Early Competition Control
What it is:
Early competition control removes fast-growing, low-value species that compete with desirable trees in young forests.

When it’s done:
Typically 4–7 years after regeneration.

Why it matters:
Just like weeding a garden, removing species such as pin cherry and grey birch allows spruce, sugar maple, yellow birch, and white pine to establish and thrive.

Who it’s for:
Woodlot owners who want to set their forest up for long-term success from the very beginning.
Land Mapping
Want to truly understand your property?

We provide digital land mapping that can include:
-
Property boundaries
-
Trails
-
Ponds and wetlands
-
Legacy trees
-
Areas of interest

Maps can be viewed on satellite imagery and used for easy navigation.
Pre-Commercial Thinning
What it is:
Pre-commercial thinning reduces tree density so each remaining tree has access to adequate light, nutrients, and space.

What it solves:
Overcrowded stands limit growth and reduce forest health. Thinning allows selected trees to reach their full potential.

Typical outcome:
Stands are usually left with approximately 1,500–2,500 trees per hectare, depending on site conditions and landowner goals.

Customization:
We work with you to determine which species are left based on your objectives.
Boundary Line Clearing
Over time, boundary lines can disappear into forest growth.

We:
-
Clear trails along existing boundaries
-
Refresh boundary blazes
-
Provide a digital boundary map

This ensures your lines are easy to find and remain clear for years.
Site Clearing
Our experienced crew can clear small, medium, or large trees to prepare land for:
-
Development
-
Access roads
-
Infrastructure projects

All work is completed safely and efficiently.
How it Works
1. Initial Review
We begin by reviewing satellite imagery to understand your woodlot at a high level.
2. On-Site Assessment
We visit the property and conduct a site cruise, noting species composition, tree height, density, and overall forest health.

3. Planning & Consultation
We review findings with you and develop a plan based on your goals and site conditions.
4. Flagging & Sectioning
The woodlot is flagged and divided into work sections.
5. Active Work Phase
Our crew receives direction from the foreman and begins work following clear species and density targets.

6. Quality Audits
Once complete, the foreman audits the work to ensure outcomes meet the plan.
