Funding & Incentives
Funding is often available for early competition control and pre-commercial thinning through Nova Scotia’s Forest Sustainability Regulations and participating wood processing mills.

Registered wood buyers must meet silviculture obligations under provincial regulations and may choose to fund silviculture work on private land.

Key benefits for landowners:
-
No requirement to sign agreements with mills or the government
-
Improves forest health after harvesting
-
Encourages sustainable forest management

Funding availability can vary year to year, and mills may prioritize landowners who sell wood to them.

We’re happy to help you understand whether funding may be available for your woodlot.
